The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Foundation and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) released the nation's first sustainable residential remodeling guidelines.

The REGREEN program is a series of guidelines designed for use by residential designers, construction professionals, and homeowners.

It includes best practices, Green Residential Remodeling Guidelineslearning programs, and valuable print and electronic resources for those looking to "green up" an existing home.

"Healthy living is on the minds of many Americans and by providing the tools and resources they need to reach their sustainability goals, we'll be furthering our collective missions of education and transforming the built environment." said Rick Fedrizzi, President, CEO & Founding Chair, U.S. Green Building Council.

A web site will house all REGREEN related resources and include interactive links to case studies, products, and educational materials.

"REGREEN is not just a set of guidelines. We are developing curriculum for learning programs and designing a comprehensive and user-friendly consumer and professional website to assist in green residential remodeling," says ASID Executive Director Michael Alin, Hon. FASID.
