BiggLugg - Swivel tool holder

BiggLugg Swivel Tool Holder is an innovative belt clip tool holder. Basically, it's a flexible metal hook covered by a colored plastic jacket. The belt clip end, with its colored plastic ball, attaches to your waist or tool belt and securely holds tools and other items.

This swivel tool holder really comes in handy when you're on a ladder with a tool you need to set down. Conveniently clipped to your belt, the tool holder provides a convenient and safe place for your tool. Think of the many tools or items you can hang from a BiggLugg: cordless screw gun, fishing rod, cleaning bucket, cordless saw, electrical tape, cleaners-spray bottle, pneumatic nail gun, caulking gun, or a hand tool.

BiggLugg is a funny looking device, but if you've ever dropped a tool from the top of a ladder or scaffolding, you'll appreciate its effectiveness. You can even turn it upside down, hang the hook over a ladder rung, and use the belt hook to hold a bucket for paint or window cleaning solution.

The coolest feature about this swivel tool holder is how it moves out of the way against your hip when not in use. Have you ever experienced tool drop from a holster? Try a BiggLugg—unlike standard holsters, BiggLugg swivels on your belt so tools hang securely even when you bend over or sit.

The BiggLugg Swivel Tool Holder is a powerful tool that's a "must" for your collection. You will wonder how you ever worked without one!

Update 02/16/07: Now that the product has been in the hands of users for a few years, we are starting see unit failures. Under constant use and weight stress, the rivet that holds the hook to the belt clip will shear off, causing the user's tool to drop.

The tool comes with "Guaranteed Forever" printed on the product's merchant display card. Professionally speaking I never could understand why such a warranty would be placed on any product—especially one that will take all kinds of abuse.

Unfortunately, I learned firsthand just how the manufacturer supports their dealers and warranty.

Broken BiggLuggsI have a regular customer who uses BiggLuggs religiously in his profession. He came to me in November 2006 to tell me that some of his BiggLuggs were breaking. I approached the manufacturer at the time to ask how we should handle the replacement of damaged products covered under the warranty. I didn't hear back from the manufacturer until January 2007 when they requested a photo or samples of the broken BiggLuggs in order to assess the problem. As you can see in the photo (right), the hook has separated from the belt clip on eight BiggLuggs and some of the hooks are bent out of shape.

As of this update, I have not heard back from the manufacturer regarding my customer's broken BiggLuggs. I ended up replacing them from our stock, but have not been reimbursed or contacted by the manufacturer.

For this reason, BiggLugg has been dropped from our e-commerce store. I no longer stand behind this product and will not recommend it either. Someone will come along and build a better mousetrap and will stand behind that product!
